"english": "It happened after these things—after the Satan accused Abraham of not being loyal to God—that God tested Abraham with a difficult test, to see if he was loyal to Him. God said to him, \"Abraham,\" and Abraham answered, \"Here I am, ready to do as You say.\" God said, \"Please take your son,\" to which Abraham replied, \"I have two sons, Isaac and Ishmael.\" God explained \"Take your only son.\" Abraham replied, \"But each of them is an only son to his mother.\" God explained, \"Take the one you love.\" Abraham replied, \"But I love them both.\" So God made it clear, \"Take Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah (Jerusalem), and bring him up there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains. When you get closer, I will tell you which one.\" Abraham wanted to follow God's instructions as soon as possible, so he rose early in the morning and he saddled his donkey1 himself. He took his two helpers, Eliezer and Ishmael, with him, as well as his son, Isaac. He chopped wood for the fire of the burnt-offering and got up and went to Jerusalem, the place to which God had told him to go. On the third day of his journey, Abraham looked up and saw a cloud resting on a mountain far away, and he realized that it was the place to which God had told him to go. Abraham said to his helpers, Eliezer and Ishmael, \"You stay here with the donkey, and I will go with the young man, Isaac, to the place over there. We will bow to God, and then we will return to you.\" Abraham took the wood that he had prepared for the fire of the burnt-offering and placed it on Isaac, his son, so he could carry it up the mountain. He took the fire to light the wood and the knife to sacrifice the offering in his hand, and the two of them went together. Isaac spoke to Abraham, his father, and said, \"Father.\" Abraham answered, \"Here I am, my son.\" Isaac said, \"We have here the fire and the wood, but where is the sheep for the burnt-offering?\" Abraham answered, \"God will provide a sheep as a burnt-offering for Himself, my son.\" The two of them went together. They reached the place to which God had told Abraham to go. Abraham built an altar there, arranged the wood for the fire, tied the hands and feet of his son, Isaac, so he shouldn't be able to move. Abraham put him on the altar, on top of the wood2 that he had prepared. Then Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to sacrifice his son. But before Abraham had a chance to continue, an angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven and said, \"Abraham! Abraham!\" Abraham answered, \"Here I am, ready to do as You say.\" The angel said in the name of God, \"Do not stretch out your hand to sacrifice the young man. Through his unreserved devotion and dedication to God, Abraham reached a level of holiness that was \"on top of the trees\"—a level even higher than that of the entire Torah.",
