Be prepared for the great revelation you will experience in the morning, and in the morning you shall ascend Mount Sinai and stand before Me there at the top of the mountain. Annotation Haftarah Passage דִּרְשׁוּ יְהוָה בְּהִמָּצְאוֹ קְרָאֻהוּ בִּהְיוֹתוֹ קָרוֹב: יַעֲזֹב רָשָׁע דַּרְכּוֹ וְאִישׁ אָוֶן מַחְשְׁבֹתָיו וְיָשֹׁב אֶל־יְהוָה וִירַחֲמֵהוּ וְאֶל־ אֱלֹהֵינוּ כִּי־יַרְבֶּה לִסְלוֹחַ: כִּי לֹא מַחְשְׁבוֹתַי מַחְשְׁבוֹתֵיכֶם וְלֹא דַרְכֵיכֶם דְּרָכָי נְאֻם יְהוָה: כִּי־גָבְהוּ שָׁמַיִם מֵאָרֶץ כֵּן גָּבְהוּ דְרָכַי מִדַּרְכֵיכֶם וּמַחְשְׁבֹתַי מִמַּחְשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם: כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר יֵרֵד הַגֶּשֶׁם וְהַשֶּׁלֶג מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִם וְשָׁמָּה לֹא יָשׁוּב כִּי אִם־הִרְוָה אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וְהוֹלִידָהּ וְהִצְמִיחָהּ וְנָתַן זֶרַע לַזֹּרֵעַ וְלֶחֶם לָאֹכֵל: כֵּן יִהְיֶה דְבָרִי אֲשֶׁר יֵצֵא מִפִּי Seek the Lord and return to Him while He still allows Himself to be found and persuaded—before a decree is sealed—call to Him while He is near. Let the wicked abandon his evil ways, and let the unrighteous abandon his wrong thoughts; let him return to the Lord and He will have mercy upon him, and let him return to our God, for He will generously forgive him. The Lord says: For My thoughts are not similar to your thoughts—you think that returning to Me will not help, but My thoughts say otherwise—and your ways are not similar to My ways—it is the way of humans to punish and not forgive, but My ways are different and I forgive. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.
