Chabad: ' is a reduced vowel — every vocal shva, always pronounced. - separates syllables that would otherwise run together.

How to read the transliterations

While praying, concentrate on the meaning of the words. Remember that you stand before the Divine Presence. Remove any distracting thoughts, allowing the mind to remain focused on prayer. Before beginning the Amidah, take three steps back, then three steps forward. Recite the Amidah quietly—but audibly—while standing with feet together. Throughout the Amidah, ending on page 350, interruptions of any form are forbidden. For laws regarding the festival Amidah, see page 608.

During the winter (from Musaf of Shemini Atzeret to Shacharit of the first day of Pesach), say מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם. During the summer (from Musaf of the first day of Pesach through Shacharit of Shemini Atzeret), say מוֹרִיד הַטָּל. If, in error, one said מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הַגֶּשֶׁם during the summer, it must be corrected, and it may be necessary to repeat the Amidah (for additional laws, see page 589). However, if, in error, one said מוֹרִיד הַטָּל during the winter, it is not necessary to go back and correct it.
